Liberty Village

Liberty Village Real Estate

Boundaries
Liberty Village occupies a central location on the west side of Toronto. It is bound by Dufferin Street in the west, Strachan Avenue to the east, King Street to the north and the Gardiner Expressway to the south.

Neighbourhood Characteristics
Liberty Village has experienced tremendous development since 2005 and houses a number of codo, loft, and office buildings. Liberty Village acquired this name very recently as the people who own the land wanted a name that would evoke a  positive response amongst prospective buyers. There has been an attempt by the people of this area to carve a separate identity of themselves, distinctive from Parkdale, which is located just on the west side of Dufferin Street.

Gentrification of the downtown area of Toronto, namely areas like Niagara, Queen Street West and Distillery District have called for steady growth. These areas are mostly inhabited by young urban professionals. Highly desirable office space has been created in old factories that lay deserted for many years prior to redevelopment.

Most of the office space is on the western side of Liberty Village. There are a number of condominiums that are coming up on the East Liberty Street that starts on the eastern side of Hanna Avenue. There are number of restaurants that have also come up in the region providing the professionals and the inhabitants a chance to dine and drink.
