Located in what is known as North Toronto, the neighborhood is centered on Lytton Park the source of its name. It has Avenue Road on the west, Yonge Street borders it on the east, the Chatsworth ravine to the north and Eglington to the south.

History
Back in the late nineteenth century, the local transit service decided to make its entry into this rural suburb of the city. Upon realizing that the value of land would rise following the railway installation, they purchased a large block of land near the station which sat near Glengrove. Two years later the neighbourhood witnessed the start of a residential boom, the price of the real estate in the region escalated. It was finally in 1912 that this place got its recognition as a neighbourhood in Toronto.

Characteristics
Lytton Park is an exclusive neighbourhood in Toronto. It is a perfect blend of old world charm and modern amenities. It features prominently on the list of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in the city. Along Yonge street there is incredible shopping that will satisfy the needs of the high profile shopper. The subway line has stations in the locality making commuting relatively hassle free. Additionally, there is regular bus service that connects directly to the subway line.

The grand old homes located in here are individual houses on large grounds. They are based on old building styles, harking back to the old English era. More recently constructed homes are mostly semi-detached. While the original homes here had hardwood floors, and old fashioned fireplaces, a number of residences have been renovated to fit modern tastes and standards.

For recreation, it has a tennis court and bowling club. During the winters, artificial ice rinks are open to the public. In addition, there is a famous natural hiking trail that passing through the local ravine, providing access to neighboring areas. It forms a great way to experience some of the outdoors in close proximity to home.
