Boundaries
The borders of North Toronto are quite extensive. Starting from the northern side of Lawrence Avenue, it extendeds south to Eglington Ave, east to Avenue Road and west to Mt. Pleasant.
Neighbourhood Characteristics
This once mediocre neighbourhood has undergone significant changes over the years and is now a prime residential neighbourhood in Toronto. It is home to some of the best private and public schools in the city, it has multiple entertainment parks, and is well connected by multiple subway stops. North Toronto is a wonderful neighbourhood for raising a family
The majority of the homes in the area were built around 1910-1940. There is a wide array of different housing types in the neighbourhood ranging from detached to semi-detached, bungalows, and even condos and apartments. Residential houses are being changed from old houses to condo apartments. The southern part of this neighbourhood is highly populated. The residential area between Mt Pleasant Road South and Yonge Street is almost all apartment buildings. And now, southern Merton Street is full of new condo structures. The Minto Midtown was just recently completed at Yonge and Eglington and comprises two towers 39 and 52 stories respectively.
