Riverdale is bounded by the Don River Valley to the west, Danforth Avenue to the north, Jones Avenue to the east, and Gerrard to the south
Neighbourhood Characteristics
This neighbourhood is prime for investment. Riverdale has close proximity to downtown while maintaining the charm of living amongst some of the fashionable artisans who will surely make it an important area in the near future. One of the most striking features this neighbourhood is the tree-lined side-streets. In Riverdale you will find many different styles of residential architecture from the old English era that had actually been built between the late nineteenth century and 1929.
The area is also home to many large recreational parks situated in the northeast of the area and in the southeast. Riverdale also has easy access to the Don Valley, one of the most extensive ravine systems in Toronto.
Prior to the opening of the main Toronto zoo, the zoo situated in Riverdale had been the chief animal observation park in the city. Today, the old zoo acts as an educational farm for both schools and families alike.
