The Danforth Real Estate

Boundaries
The Danforth is centred on Danforth Ave., and runs between Chester and Jones Ave.

History
The road was named after Asa Danforth, the highway engineer who built Queen Street and Kingston Road. Don and Danforth Plank Road Company completed Danforth Ave in 1851 to connect Broadview Avenue, Queen Street East, and Kingston Road.

Neighbourhood Characteristics
Danforth is home to a huge Greek community and is often referred to as Greektown. The street holds the world record for the highest concentration of restaurants on a given stretch. Along with great food, the good life also beckons in the form of an eclectic mix of high profile fashion stores, home décor stores, florists and the like.

The energetic nightlife of this portion of the city is hard to miss when strolling down the strip in the summer. Once the sun sets, the area explodes with life. There are various popular bars and clubs in the area that draw in hordes of people from all over the megacity.

Authentic Greek and Mediterranean cuisine is a huge draw for those looking for a great meal. Great dining is a part and parcel of the Danforth experience. Taste of the Danforth is a famous annual festival celebrated in the August. A million visitors come here for a celebration lasting two and a half days. Danforth Avenue is closed to traffic during this time. The street is often overcrowded with visitors, not to mention a wide array of hawkers and street food joints.
